Associate Principal / Principal, Life Sciences

The Associate Principal or Principal is responsible for leading client engagements as well as internal firm initiatives. They play a key role in the helping manage the P&L of the firm and are instrumental in growing the business and our people.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Build and grow client relationships, primarily in the life sciences space. Position self as a thought partner and trusted advisor with clients.
  • Identify and lead the effort on new business acquisition through organic and inorganic channels. This will be one of the core expectations from the individual.
  • Identify market opportunities and trends to devise execution strategies.
  • Lead firm development activities to develop new offerings, IP, accelerators, and other assets to grow Arya’s footprint in the industry.
  • Lead client engagements and project teams to successfully deliver on set project goals. Ensure projects meet or exceed client satisfaction.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members. Work with team members to ensure agreed upon professional development needs are met as part of their journey with the firm; provide feedback and support to peers on core strengths; provide honest and constructive upward feedback.
  • Maintain a positive attitude even in the face of challenging situations; reinforces a culture of mutual respect, teamwork, and support.

Qualifications:

  • Strong ability to navigate ambiguity and devise resolution hypotheses and strategies. Able to break down complex problems into logical units and develop approaches to solve them.
  • Demonstrated sales track record, with robust annual sales and delivery goals
  • Extensive experience in leading and being accountable for multiple parallel projects
  • Proficiency in developing IP, supporting collateral and scaling practice offerings. Experience in developing new offerings and practice(s) a huge plus.
  • Ability to effectively visualize thought process and strategy through tools like MS PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Masters, etc.) strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience, with at least 7 years working in a management consulting firm with responsibilities similar to this role.
  • Strong understanding and experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate business and industry knowledge in developing creative and actionable solutions for clients.
  • Extremely polished core consulting skills (written, verbal, presentation, presence, etc.)
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment as well as work independently with minimal guidance.
  • Passion for learning.
  • Extremely strong proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. in an unrestricted manner.
