Associate Engagement Manager / Engagement Manager, Life Sciences

The Associate Engagement Managers and Engagement Managers are responsible for structuring, owning, and managing projects and client stakeholders. They are responsible for guiding the project team on the successful and on-time delivery of the project while managing risks/issues and client expectations. They are seen as the go-to person for day-to-day project status, communications, risk/issue mitigator by both Arya and the client. This person plays a pivotal part in business development – from identifying new/follow-on opportunities to assisting in closing those deals. They also champion junior talent development and team morale building.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop overall storyboard/specifications for project deliverables; divide work and guide team members to effectively conduct tasks to contribute to project deliverables; responsible for overall quality of client deliverables
  • Structure and drive problem solving, research, analysis, insights, and strategic recommendations development for an entire project; able to estimate the impact of potential risks and manage risk mitigation
  • Ensure projects meet or exceed the client satisfaction standard; builds rapport and trust with clients that leads to long-term professional relationships; is seen as being responsive, reliable, and dedicated to delighting clients; is seen as a project manager by client
  • Serve as the point person for day-to-day client communications, bringing in the project leader when necessary; communicates effectively with the entire client project team and team members alike using multiple modalities
  • Demonstrate agility in client engagements by working in diverse capacities
  • Contribute to firm initiatives and business development activities
  • Work with team members to ensure agreed upon professional development needs are met as part of the project; provides feedback and support to peers on core strengths; provide honest and constructive upward feedback
  • Maintain a positive attitude even in the face of challenging situations; reinforces a culture of mutual respect, teamwork, and support; attempts to find solutions rather than identify issues

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree is preferred
  • 9-13 years of experience, with at least 3 years working in a management consulting firm for Associate Engagement Manager and 5 years for Engagement Manager
  • Strong understanding and experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate business and industry knowledge in developing creative and actionable solutions for clients
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • Polished core consulting skills (written, verbal, presentation, presence, etc.)
  • Detail oriented with ability to work well with ambiguity
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative environment as well as work independently with minimal guidance when needed
  • Passion for learning
  • Extremely strong proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel. This includes creating leadership level presentations. This is a must-have
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. in an unrestricted manner
